Which way is home

I've had these pictures since I got off the ship in 1962. They show President Kennedy visiting with Admiral George Spach. In one of the pictures you will see the Essex in the background. There is also a picture or two of Captain Bogart greeting the Captain of the German sailing ship "Gurch Foch). There is an S2F landing on the flight deck, a picture of the Essex being refueled and a picture of the XO but I don't remember his name. He served under Bogart and Searcy. You'll notice in the picture of the sailors at the dance in Nova Scotia is one of our trustees. Can you pick him out?
